The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Continuum of Care (CoC) announces five new members to its CoC Governing Board. The four newly elected Board members are Gerard Littlejohn (Philanthropic partner working to eliminate homelessness), Victor Nicholson (Faith-based organization active in ending homelessness), Trish Hobson (Youth Provider) and Anna London (Workforce Development Provider). In addition, Pamela Malatestinic was recently appointed to serve in the Veterans Administration Sr. Level Administrator Ex Officio seat. We are excited to have Gerard, Victor, Trish, Anna and Pamela serve on the Board and look forward to their knowledge and expertise. Gerard Littlejohn is the Executive Director of the Steve Smith Foundation. In his role, Gerard leads the Foundation’s programmatic efforts, including the Smith Family Wellness Center that serves uninsured and low-income families with medical and counseling care, as well as their new virtual learning support center for homeless children. Gerard was born in Charlotte, NC but raised in Lexington, NC. A graduate of UNC Charlotte, Gerard is married to his wife Eboni and have two kids – Mia and Tyson.
Victor Nicholson serves as the Vice President of Christian Mission the YMCA of Greater Charlotte, where he provides Spiritual development opportunities for 5,000 employees and 60,000 members. He is an avid reader and a career coach. Victor was formerly homeless and now advocates for those experiencing housing insecurity. Victor is the proud dad of Angel Nicholson.
Trish Hobson has served in leadership roles in non-profits in both volunteer and staff roles for over 20 years. Since 2016, Trish has served as Executive Director of The Relatives, an organization dedicated to helping youth and young adults move from crisis to stability and to become contributing members of our community. Specifically, The Relatives provides counseling and shelter for children; and resources to obtain education, employment, and housing for young adults. Trish’s passion lies in solving issues surrounding homelessness and unstable housing. Trish came to Charlotte in 1984 to attend Queens College. Upon graduation, she stayed in Charlotte and started a family. Trish and her husband, Ross, have two adult children and two dogs.
Anna London, workforce champion and advocate for individuals in need, currently serves as Chief Operating Officer for Charlotte Works. Charlotte Works, Mecklenburg County’s workforce development board, ensures the growing region has a skilled workforce that meets the current and future needs of employers through collaborations with business, government, education and training, and community partners. In her role, London manages performance, compliance, and continuous improvement, and ensuring that programming aligns with the organization’s strategic workforce plan.
London, a Charlotte native, has been with Charlotte Works for over six years. Her experience as Program Supervisor for The Relatives, which serves youth and adults in crisis, positioned her well to serve as Charlotte Works Youth Program Manager. She then assumed the role as Interim Operations Director overseeing day-to-day operations.
London is a member of the Mecklenburg County Domestic Violence Speaker’s Bureau, and a Board member for the Stratford Richardson YMCA. London is also a certified career coach. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from UNC Charlotte and a master’s degree in professional counseling from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. She has spent several years in the counseling and human services industry with experience in crisis intervention and behavioral health.
In her free time, London takes full advantage of Charlotte’s short distance from the mountains and the beach with frequent visits to both. She is a runner and loves working out, but its time spent with friends and family that put a smile on her face.
Pamela Malatestinic was assigned as the Associate Administrator of the Charlotte Health Care Center on 19 August 2018. She is currently serving as the Administrator of the Charlotte HCC as of 26 Oct 2020.
Prior to her appointment, Ms. Malatestinic served as the Assistant Chief, Health Administration Service (HAS) at the W.G. “Bill” Hefner VA Medical Center starting in September 2013. In this role, she served as the Operations Officer for HAS and was responsible for overall program management of Health and Travel Benefits, Outpatient Administration, Health Information Management, Inpatient Administration, Training, and Records Management. Before joining the VA, Ms. Malatestinic served as the Chief, Leadership Development Division, National Guard Bureau, Human Resources Directorate, Andrews Air Force Base, MD and also served a Medical Group Superintendent and HR Superintendent at multiple locations. Ms. Malatestinic retired from the military in 2013 at the rank of Chief Master Sergeant after more than 29 years.
Ms. Malatestinic earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management from St. Joseph’s University, New York in 2002, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Ms. Malatestinic completed three Associate in Applied Science degrees– Human Resources Technology, Education and Training Technology and Information Systems Technology – while assigned to the USAF and Air National Guard. During her military service, Ms. Malatestinic graduated from the USAF Chief’s Leadership Course, USAF Senior Noncommissioned Officers Academy, Leadership Challenge Program and the Reserve Component National Security Course at Ft. McNair, Washington, DC. She also received her Professional Manager Certification in 2011 and was selected as the Superintendent of the Year for the Air National Guard. Ms. Malatestinic deployed to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2001.
She is the recipient of the Meritorious Service Medal with 3 oak leaf clusters and the Air Force Commendation Medal with 4 oak leaf clusters. Ms. Malatestinic is a 2016 Graduate of the VISN 6 Leadership Development Institute and will be attending the Health Care Leadership Development Program (HCLDP) in 2021.

Branden Lewis is a Management Analyst for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Continuum of Care (CoC). Branden serves as the community staff lead for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg CoC. Branden’s role is to coordinate program activities outlined in the HUD CoC Program Interim Rule with a primary focus on the HUD COC Notice of Funding Availability, ESG Grant Application process and CoC Governance.
